Safety Instructions for Slingshot Use
To ensure that slingshot shooting remains a pleasure and to avoid serious injuries, please read and follow these simple safety rules before purchasing or using any product:
Legal Notice
-
The purchase of a slingshot or similar items is permitted for adults.
-
Carrying a slingshot in public is prohibited without a legitimate reason.
-
Minors may acquire or use a slingshot only with authorization from a parent or legal guardian (except in cases of legal restrictions — see applicable decree).
⚠️ Warning: Slingshots are not toys.
They are sports instruments that must be used under the supervision and responsibility of an adult.
Retailers: keep these products away from the toy section.
Usage Guidelines
-
Never aim at or shoot toward a person or animal, including pets.
-
Eye protection is mandatory for both the user and anyone within the shooting range.
Approved Projectiles Only
-
Use only projectiles designed for slingshots, specifically steel or glass balls of the correct diameter:
-
8 mm balls for 8 mm pouches
-
6 mm balls for 6 mm pouches, etc.
-
-
Do not use stones or improvised projectiles.
-
If you wish to shoot larger glass balls, please contact us — we can provide a custom pouch adapted to that use.
For specialized projectiles:
-
Darts: only darts sold on this website are compatible. Verify that both your slingshot and your bands are designed for this use.
-
Arrows: only arrows sold on this website are suitable for YSHOOT products. Ensure that your setup and bands are appropriate for arrow shooting.
Equipment Maintenance
-
Always inspect your slingshot and bands before use.
-
Do not use equipment that has been dropped, exposed to extreme heat, or extreme cold.
-
Replace any bands that are cut, damaged, or visibly worn.
-
Flat latex bands are fragile and wear out faster; check them systematically before each session.
Training Advice
If you have never used a slingshot before, seek advice beforehand — through online forums, tutorials, or experienced users.
The average power of a slingshot is around 5 joules, which is far from harmless.
Improper use can cause serious injury, particularly to the eyes and hands.
Responsibility and Compliance
The owner and/or user must comply with all local and national laws governing the possession and use of such equipment.
Before using your slingshot, consult the regulations in force in your country.
Improper or unsafe use can result in serious injury or death.
